Video footage captured at the chaotic scene shows the woman appearing with snacks before the bears bound towards her and she begins to run.

The peckish panda’s work together to take her down with one trying to bite her ankles and the other bowling her over as she lies pinned to the ground.

The frantic woman appears concerned and desperately tries to escape the animals’ grasp as they paw at her head and nibble at her neck.

One panda grows bored runs away revealing a rip in the zookeeper’s shirt and scratch marks on her shoulder area.

She manages to sit up as the other bear continues to gnaw at her midriff in front of hundreds of filming zoo visitors.

A colleague runs out to help the stunned woman but he too is then pursued by the remaining animal as the scene descends into pandemonium.

The clip ends with both workers sprinting for safety as the crazed bear, apparently a juvenile, gives chase.

According to reports, the zookeeper only sustained minor injuries in the attack.

The bizarre scenes were filmed on April 23 at Chongqing Zoo in Chongqing, China and locals were quick to share their thoughts.

One said: “That happened because the zookeeper looks inexperienced. She should have run away, but instead she tried to stop them.”

Another wrote: “They don’t care for her because she doesn’t love them, she’s just doing her job, they don’t tolerate falseness.”

“Their strength is amazing, fortunately the zookeeper is fine.”

PANDAS IN THE NEWS

It comes as four giant pandas picnicked in China — awaiting the arrival of two friends after they spent 12 years in Scotland.

The returning pair were led into crates by keepers and placed on a plane at Edinburgh Airport after a stint at the city’s zoo.

Hopes female Tian Tian would breed with Yang Guang came to nothing.

Michael Livingstone, a senior animal keeper at the zoo, will join them on the journey.

He said: “They’re very different to look after.

“As a team we have looked after many different species of bear.

We were fairly confident we knew what kind of hurdles we might need to cross and jump over for looking after panda.

“And when they arrived it was completely different to what we thought.

“They are a very sensitive, very specialised species so we very quickly learned all the different things we needed to do with them or around them.”

And a group of giant pandas celebrate their first birthday with a real teddy bears’ picnic.

They snacked on bamboo shoots and lazed around enjoying the party.

Zookeepers in Shenshuping, China, laid out a table with their favourite treats and wrapped up presents for the 18 cubs.
