Russian military police blocked the convoy of the “international coalition.” RIA Novosti reports this, citing the words of the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in the Arab Republic, Major General Yury Popov.

At a briefing, he said that the incident occurred on the afternoon of May 8 near the village of Sarmoak-Faukani, Hasakah province.

“A military police unit of the Russian Armed Forces blocked a non-deconflict convoy of the so-called “international anti-terrorist coalition” consisting of six Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and two pickup trucks,” the serviceman said.

He added that after this the “coalition” column turned around and departed in the opposite direction.

On May 1, it was reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out strikes on two militant bases in Homs province. And on May 2, the sounds of several explosions were heard in the vicinity of the Syrian capital Damascus.

Prior to this, Syria introduced electronic visas for Russians. The innovation provides for applying for a visa online, without being present at an embassy or consulate. Review time is up to 72 hours.
