Kenneth Mosby charged with shooting his infant daughter outside Chicago McDonald’s

Published:

Chicago police have arrested and charged a father with shooting his 9-month-old daughter in a McDonald’s parking lot last week.

Authorities said Saturday that Kenneth Mosby, 23, is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery over the incident late Tuesday night at a McDonald’s in Chicago’s South Side.

Police said the infant girl’s mother, who wasn’t identified, left her baby and her boyfriend in the car while she ran inside the fast-food location.

When she got back in the car, the mother told police she saw her daughter’s nose bleeding, but “thought nothing of it” since her child had been fighting a cold.

The mother then checked on her daughter by going into the back seat and noticed the baby was bleeding profusely.

She drove to a nearby hospital afterward. Police said the baby is listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds below the right ear and above the left eyebrow.

Authorities said they arrested Mr. Mosby on Thursday.
